School Clusters in Gwinnett County In the early 1990s, Gwinnett County Public Schools started grouping schools into clusters — a pyramid-style system where a group of elementary schools feed into a middle school, which feed into a high school. Clusters are named after the mother high school (Central Gwinnett High, for example, anchors the Central Gwinnett Cluster). Each cluster typically contains two to six elementary schools, one to two middle schools and one high school.
